Rubber Fabrication Processes
Our in-house manufacturing capabilities provide a full range of rubber and silicone rubber fabrication processes, including sheet rubber and rubber sleeve fabrication. Our rubber fabrication processes are used to produce various components such as:
- Extruded rubber products (rubber gaskets and seals and tubing)
- Molded rubber products (rubber o-rings, insulative rubber, silicone bands, etc.)
- Custom fabricated rubber products (metal/rubber fabricated gaskets and laminated rubber)
We also work with a number of reputable manufacturers that specialize in lathe, die, and water cut components that we cannot produce in-house.
Rubber Materials
Since 1950, we have been producing rubber products from a variety of materials, including:
- Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) – known as an M-class rubber, this synthetic rubber is used in a wide range of applications
- Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) – similar to natural rubber in its resistance to mild solvents and chemicals and, like natural rubber, can be successfully bonded to many materials.
- Polyisoprene – known as “natural rubber”, a synthetic polymer derived from small molecules called isoprene, with the help of special metal compounds
- Neoprene – an extremely versatile synthetic rubber and has thousands of uses for many applications in diverse environments
- DuPont™ Viton® fluoroelastomer - well known for its excellent heat resistance, Viton offers resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals
- Buna N – also known as Nitrile rubber, this synthetic rubber copolymer is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals
- Silicone rubber – a rubber-like material composed of silicone which is widely used in industry due to its stable nature and high resistance to extreme environments and temperatures from -55°C to +300°C
From OEM designed parts to individual items that help solve maintenance issues, Rocket Polymers has the expertise to develop, produce and deliver to your specific requirements for all your rubber fabrication needs. We are committed to holding critical tolerances and delivering consistent products and will help you select the right material for your project.
